Blog Action Day 2008

Blog Action Day BadgeBlog Action Day is an annual non-profit event bringing together bloggers from all over the world to discuss a single pressing issue on October 15.

In 2007 more than 20000 bloggers joined the discussion. Emmaus Preston will participate this year and discuss the 2008 topic, Poverty, on October 15th.

As a charity daily dealing with the topic of poverty, homeless people joining us and cheap affordable prices for our customers, it was a no-brainer to join the Blog Action Day event. More info can be found on the Blog Action Day website:

One Issue, Thousands of Voices
Global issues like poverty are extremely complex. There is no simple, clear answer. By asking thousands of different people to give their viewpoints and opinions, Blog Action Day creates an extraordinary lens through which to view these issues. Each blogger brings their own perspective and ideas. Each blogger posts relating to their own blog topic. And each blogger engages their audience differently.

In 2008 we aim to again focus the blogging community’s energies and passions, this time on the mammoth issue of global poverty.
