In times when credit crunch have become two of the most popular words world wide, there is a big opportunity for charity and second hand shops. But, something is rotten in the state of charity shops.

After months of preparation the Emmaus Preston Group finally can announce that the opening of its second hand superstore is nearing its final stage. Only some days to go anymore until Saturday 18th October 2008.

Emmaus Preston will have a stand at Preston Market on Tuesday 7th October 2008 and Tuesday 14th October 2008.
The market stand will be manned by our Companions and we will sell Bric-a-Brac. We hope to raise an interested for our impending shop opening on Saturday 18th October 2008. Feel free to come

Kenny Gawne and Chris Riley from DISC did the Morecambe Bay Sponsored Walk on 29th June raising funds for the main charity – Galloways – and Emmaus Preston.
On 7th June Kenny and Meloney Hafeji and raised funds for Emmaus by holding a jumble sale.

After the group of companions rotated the cooking duty, we finally have a chef. Paul joined us from the Emmaus Brighton & Hove community.

Today our first Companion has joined us. After having spent the weekend with us Martin, a former companion at Emmaus Mossley, has joined Emmaus Preston as our first Companion. He looks forward to help us start the Community and open the shop.

Graeme has joined us to help starting our Community. Graeme has a wealth of experience within Emmaus after 8 years at the Brighton and Hove Community, 6 years of those as C.A.
He is helping Eddie and Franky for the next 4 weeks.
